meow to me 
i hope you like this new layout. it’s kinda simple but i want to have a new one since many have complained the last one was too bright to read.
i spent an hour writing a randlink function in php that has the ability to have priority as well. i will pack it up and release to the public tomorrow.
i got rid of my guestbook for this site. it’s getting less and less meaningful. you can just leave comments instead of signing the book. it’s also a pain for me to have to update it all the time since it’s in cgi not php, it’s a lot more complicated than doing other updates. so i’ve decided to leave it out.
it’s getting late, andy’s snoring =P i’d better go to the bed.
CO test

i just finished my computer organization and hardware test. it was as easy as it sounded. all the problems were expected. but i’m still scared coz easy tests are usu. the ones i do bad on. i can ALWAYS ALWAYS come up with some stupid mistakes out of nowhere to bring down my score. i finished the test in half an hour and i spent the rest of the time checking and checking until i memorized all the problems and answers. sigh… that still doesn’t mean i will NOT make stupid mistake coz i always do grrr. oh well, at least i tried my best.
andy drank A LOT last nite. eek, i didn’t like that >< but i guess i could tolerate that since it’s his birthday. he’s got another three bottles sitting in the fridge. i will get on him if he doesn’t stop.
i wrote him a poem for his birthday:

I’ve been overwhelmed with some personal business these days. sigh.. i tried so hard to fall asleep last nite and for the entire nite i tossed back and forth without sleeping sound. i woke up this morning around 7:30am and decided to get up and take a look at the new design project i’m getting. I emailed the client back with my cost and time estimate. it’s pretty likely i’m gonna get the job coz he’s a returning client and i really didn’t ask for much.
it’s andy’s birthday today. he’s 21 now. i’ve been so busy that i haven’t yet got him a card. i will have to do that today. i got him a cd from florida as his birthday gift which i already gave to him. i still feel bad that i couldn’t give him more. i’m just not in a good mood these days. things happened too fast. i suppose it’s over now but…. my bad feelings remained sigh…..
say happy birthday to andy =) maybe send him a greeting

i spent most of the day working on my essay for my int. lit class. i finally got it DONE! i will add it to my writings when i talked the teacher next tuesday.
andy took me out for dinner. we went to hy-vee buffet. people were giving us 300 lbs of old food to clean out their pans so they could replace them with fresh ones. I ended with a plate full of Chinese food and andy got a mountain what he called the “grease loaf” (meat loaf). i couldn’t believe i finished most of my stuff while andy dumped half of “grease loaf” into the trash. while sitting there, i did something very crazy. andy finished the water in his cup and i was drinking my ravioli soup. all the sudden i just had an urge to drop some ravioli from soup to his cup so i could contaminate it. so quickly i got a scoop of ravioli, before andy could stop it, dropped into his cup. i could only see his stare of overwhelming surprise. he kept staring at me until my laughed so hard that tears came of my eyes. i didn’t know what exactly urged me to do that but it was so funny. andy finally started laughing just as hard.
dear jenn did a beautiful design for regretless T-shirt except it turned out rather small when i put it on the shirt. i dont know what happened. eek. i hope she can make it beigger. do you think it looks small? sarah likes it. i think it’s small. it’s only 4 inches in height.

i was a little pissed earlier. i called andy at kfc to check on him. first the ring ran about five minutes before anyone answered. i let it ring coz i knew there has to be someone there since they just closed. a guy picked up the phone and put me on hold. i don’t think he even bothered telling andy that i was waiting. i heard andy voice from afar so i knew he was there handling some customers. i waited on the phone listening to the noises for five minutes and no one came and i hang up. >:( won’t bother to call again since i knew andy was there. i just don’t want the basketball incident to happen again.
daynah’s writing php lessons for her new domain php-princess.net. i want to write some TOO! man but tomorrow i will be locked to write my essay for my int lit. we will have lunch out for andy’s upcoming birthday tho =)

OH MY GOD, my element school message board is so hot. everyone’s there leaving messages. now i don’t know how many of them are actually no longer in china. it sounds like many. i’m thoroughly confused. but it’s so fun esp. they said they will get together with me once i go back. WOOHOO!! i can’t wait.
my little god brother in US told me many of chinese friends here are going back this summer. that means he will visit me in shanghai as well. i not only gonna see friends in china also friends here. i’m so happy!!!

i worked hard on the new layout. i scanned the stationaries daynah sent me for my birthday and created the new layout this afternoon. it took me about 4 hours to make, write html, and implement. i also did some small updates for dnw. tomorrow, i will scan more of daynah’s stationaries so i can add them to my scan section under graphics.
a member at my board told me about this girl using my graphics. This really pretty pathetic. She couldn’t even get the “new millennium” off it. Just saved and used without permission. I don’t think it even looks good. Some people are unbelievable in this world.

this is a very talented oekaki by mimi. she’s getting better and better. dmb’s really got some great artists. i will go to my chemistry TA’s office hour in a second. chemistry is getting worse now. it just involves too much stuff now =P
i found out this morning that one of my classmates from elementary school is actually in Europe now. he emailed me earlier. i can’t believe how much things changed in china. arr all my friends. there were 41 students in my class and i momerized their names according to their student number. i tried to list all the names last nite. i could remember 40 of them. i’m so proud. it’s wonderful to remember everyone’s face. man only if i will be able to see them again. there’s current a picture of them from the last reunion at the message board, i can only briefly figure out couple of them. and there are also pictures of us in elementary school. this (first grade) and this (fifth grade). can you find me in there? =)

i’m happy. i just went to writing center in the history department. the teacher there read my draft and praised my book report. she gave me some very helpful suggestions in how to improve my paper which i adopted in my last revision. now i posted it online as one of my school writings. it’s a little long and could be a bit boring if you are not interested in Chinese women history.
then i went to register office to get myself listed double majored in math. i went to the math department later and met my discrete structure teacher on the way, he volunteered to be my advisor. i was like YESSSSSSSSSS!!! he’s such a great teacher and person. he showed me a lot more than my other stupid advisor. i love how it turned out.
to get a BS degree in math in UI is actually quite easy if you are already planning getting a BS in computer science. Essentially there will only be THREE extra required courses you will need to take according to the program C. These are Calculus III, Introduction to Abstract Algebra I, Statistics. I can fill the rest with my electives in CS!
Another thing that makes me happy is that the interpretation of literature midterm paper doesn’t sound as bad as i think. the teacher passed out the instructions for the paper in class today. there are couple choices for topics. one of them is about the story we discussed today in class. and that’s the one i’m gonna write about. i already have a brief outline in my head. I will probably get a head start this weekend and get some help from the teacher next week and hope to do a good job on it. it looks pretty straight forward =)
i also found my classmates in my elementary school (in china) online!! WOO HOO. their class message board has even more participants. now i’m so happy. i just left them a message, will try to call some of my old friends later *hehe*
