Jee… Dodo, I’m sorry to hear that. Why don’t people understand that money isn’t all that matters? I think your mum should get help, but I don’t think she will accept it. Maybe your father should just move far far away from her :( Take care girl!

Erin

Your poor father, it’s unhealthy for anyone to be sleeping with no heat at 20 below, but especially for someone who is almost 60, that is dangerous! I hope something is done about your mother soon… Take care, Dodo!!

My parents live together and they are always having problems, but they don’t touch each other. My father use to bit me up, really bad, and today, I barely talk to him.
Hope things get better…they should really live apart of each other…

it’s good to see you’re somewhat back :)

and oh yea, your read more hack! i loved that one too :)
can’t wait until you get your whole site back up x)) but didn’t you say awhile back you wouldn’t be too much online stuff, due to studying for GRE? (or some enterance test?) hehe

About the read more hack, it is available as a plugin at this page
In fact you can get some pretty cool plugins and hacks at http://www.scriptygoddess.com. :)
I meant to use your link button when writing this url but the button doesn’t seem to work.

August 15th, 2004 at 5:21 pm
dodo

thanks. i will try fixing the button. that hack is good but it doesn’t allow multiple mores like my old hack.

August 15th, 2004 at 6:02 pm
dodo

hrm i just tried that plugin.. it doesn’t work for me. it screwed up my plugins page on my cp :( don’t know why.

August 15th, 2004 at 6:05 pm
Frank

If i my ask, what’s the difference between XHTML strict & transitional? My blog is validated as valid xhtml transitional.

o and also, if u have WP1.2 the readmore option is already built-in.
just use the tags in ur post.

August 15th, 2004 at 8:04 pm
dodo

difference between strict and transitional

i know it’s built in but i want something more. like this allows multiple of them and uses javascript.

i’m trying to write a plugin myself. it’s got some problems so far.

August 15th, 2004 at 8:11 pm
Lele

I’ve resisted converting over to WP mostly because of all the awesome hacks you wrote for b2… I don’t want to give them up yet!

August 15th, 2004 at 8:27 pm
dodo

lol i know.. i’m having trouble converting the hacks over :(

August 15th, 2004 at 8:39 pm
aline

I got the same problem when I first installed this plugin.
What I did:
Went to
http://www.scriptygoddess.com/downloads/getContentforShowHide.phps
Copied all the text and pasted over in the getContentforShowHide.php file in the plugins folder. Somehow when i had saved the file in Firefox, the code got all srewed up. Plus I checked for no extra space after the code.
did it work for you?
hmm I haven’t seen a multiple mores plugins for wp yet.

August 15th, 2004 at 8:40 pm
dodo

no it’s not working. i’ve got some weird cookie errors. i’m trying to write the multi-more hack myself and it seems every time i try to add filter to the_content, it gives me header errors. the exact same errors i got when i used that plugin from scripty. however, this plugin works for me but it’s still not exactly what i want.

August 15th, 2004 at 8:56 pm
Jessica

Well, great job and good luck getting everything up and working, Dodo! Everything looks wonderful so far. :)

August 15th, 2004 at 11:25 pm
ecila

hmmm maybe you could somehow tweek the hack so that there’s a

blahblah

? So the paragraph tag get’s closed before the div, and another one get’s open after it?

though yea, that will might screw up the format of the entry.. like being unable to include a cut tag within a paragraph… but… for the greater good? lol..
or how about writting another separate hack to do exactly what you said, to strip the paragraph tags, and replace them with br ones? I personally am not a real fan of the paragraph tag x))

August 15th, 2004 at 11:49 pm
ecila

errr… the code i wanted to post in the above comment kind of screwed up =

but yea it was something like
< / p > < d i v > < p> blah blah < / p > < / d i v> </></></></></>
so there’s a paragraph tag that closed before, the div, and opens after it x)

August 15th, 2004 at 11:50 pm
ecila

and err -________-” putting spaces between the tags didn’t work =((… hopfully u can see the tags in my comment when you’re logged into wp xD

August 15th, 2004 at 11:51 pm
dodo

actually i kinda realized that the entry is formatted after the hack. the plugin has higher priority so the
tags are added afterwards. i suppose i can lower the priority of the hack. either way it has to be done with regular expression and i suck at it XP

August 15th, 2004 at 11:58 pm
Jenny

i dont know… its valid in a regular layout. i had it once. but now my page isnt valid for some strange reason. oh well. good luck.

August 16th, 2004 at 1:00 pm
dodo

well this is something i hacked so i should know. but i think i got it validate now. just don’t know how well it will present all different types of entry format.

Eeek… I hate it when people fart around me… much less continously! Very gross! My mom does that quite a bit, she’ll be walking around and let out a fart (in public). Then she’ll sit down right by me and fart. O_O;; It makes me want to run away!

But I’m glad you have your blog back again! I wasn’t sure how long it would be down, so I linked your tabulas account on my new site. Oh well. ^^;

It seems that the code isn’t working correctly under Safari 1.2. It creates a new window thats about the size of a smaill box. Or was this intended…

August 16th, 2004 at 6:06 pm

interesting.. there supposed to be a picture in the new window.. it’s just blank? i don’t have the browser so i don’t know how it looks like.

:) Nothing really, it was something we wanted to avoid (this was planned as part of the WordPress core for 1.2, but I fell behind in development)

oh dodo, i noticed something in the treadedcomments.txt…. when it gives instructions to edit the wp_comments.php file, you’re missing out a tag that displays the content of the comment xDD

I tried your threaded comments. Here.
I had tried to get Mark’s threaded comments to work some time ago but was unsuccessful.
Yours was great. Everything done under 5mins. :)
However, i now have a vertical line in front of my reply to someone’s comment.

I just noticed something else. In your instructions about editing wp-comments.php , the last instruction removes the
Commented by Name under the comment for me. I only see the comments but not the name of the person who wrote the comment.I’m not sure why this is happening.
I can only know who the commentors are by looking at the list above the comments (i have the comment plugger plugin installed).
I had tried the very first step about running add_comment_reply_ID.php and i got this:

Can’t connect to the database
Duplicate column name ‘comment_reply_ID’

Then I remembered that I had already run Mark’s add_comment_reply_ID.php when i had attempted to install threaded comments in the past so I just went ahead with the remaining instructions.

August 17th, 2004 at 8:37 am
dodo

ok i didn’t test out all my steps since i already did my hack when i wrote read me. i just did it from memory. thanks for the note. i will fix those.

August 17th, 2004 at 11:13 am
dodo

you do have a line in your reply.. so maybe you fixed that? it should work after you edited your wp-layout.css

to have comment by stuff, open your wp-comments.php

find:
<?php if (’yes’ == get_settings(’thread_comments’)) { ?>

add before:

<?php comment_type(); ?> <?php _e(”by”); ?> <?php comment_author_link() ?> — <?php comment_date() ?> @ <a href=”#comment-<?php comment_ID() ?>”><?php comment_time() ?>

let me know if it works. that’s actually a bug in mark’s as well.

August 17th, 2004 at 11:27 am
Frank

is there any possible way this could be made a plugin and not a hack?

August 17th, 2004 at 11:32 am
Perja

HI, I installed your hack on top of the translated hack and it messed up all the comments, it doesn’t thread the comments right and then it displayed the posts that had comments threaded with the previous version as threads within threads like in this one.

August 17th, 2004 at 11:46 am
Myisha

I having the exact problems as Perja is having…It’s an excellent Hacks by the way…

August 17th, 2004 at 12:03 pm
dodo

i’m not sure what you mean by “on top of the translated hack” – if you mean mark’s.. you are not supposed to add the two hacks together. the readme is meant for a fresh install.

August 17th, 2004 at 2:04 pm
dodo

maybe i will write a separate readme for how to convert it from mark’s hack.

August 17th, 2004 at 2:05 pm
dodo

nope. but i heard they are gonna include it feature wp versions.

August 17th, 2004 at 2:06 pm
dodo

like i said before, my readme is meant for fresh install not on top of mark’s hack.

August 17th, 2004 at 2:07 pm
Perja

You see, I had marked the mods made with the converted hack that used the comment-post-reply file, and so I went back, deleted all those mods and replaced by yours.

Now it’s all… um… broken.

August 17th, 2004 at 2:07 pm
dodo

i can not tell what the problem is from your code.. the reason it’s not working is the comment_reply_ID is not being recorded by the javascript like it’s supposed to. but i’m not sure why.. i will have to look at your php code to see. it did work for aline tho.

August 17th, 2004 at 2:13 pm

The code for which file?

I have included all the files that had changes in them in this zip: http://nullsphere.coreworlds.net/for_dodo.rar

i found what’s wrong with your code, you have

<input type="hidden" name="comment_reply_ID" id="comment_reply_ID" value="0" />
<input type="hidden" name="comment_reply_ID" value="0" /></input></input>

you need to delete the second line

August 17th, 2004 at 2:39 pm
ecila

yes it worked out in the end :D

August 17th, 2004 at 2:41 pm
Perja

Erf, I looked high and low for the duplicate line… In the end, I couldn’t find it, so I did the sensible thing, deleted the files on my server, remodded fresh ones and uploaded.

Guess what? It works! :D
Thank you for you helping me out.

Thanks for the help it’s working now..Threaded comments don’t work with Comment Moderation.?? In my blog somehow the thread comment bypass moderation and get post without being approval..I was having the problem when I was using Mark’s coversion of the hack as well..Do u know why this is happening??i turned comment moderation off, because the replying when getting posted anyway..

as long as you care, u’ll do fine. The only bad TA I’ve had I truely believe was just there for the money. She lost our papers and blamed us and as a teacher she would put us to sleep. She also never returned my e-mails which really bugged me.
On the other hand, the best TA I’ve had seriously went above and beyond his duties as a TA. He was a complete dork, but he really cared if we failed or not which was cool.

Yeah, that first day of orientation can be a bit overwhelming. It seems like you don’t have a chance to digest the training before class starts full blast.

“Computer Analysis” can be tough because the labs are based so closely on step-by-step tutorials. I wish I could have thought of better ways to make those sessions “meaningful.” I’m sure you’ll think of several things.

We’ve got lab sessions for Visual Basic this year (as opposed to last years help sessions). I’m hoping the effect isn’t similar.

Sorry about this. I have used your Code button next to i . It seems to have messed up my comment. So I won’t use that button and won’t post the code I’ve used. I’ll just explain what I did.

I was saying that this code above didn’t work.
Then I inserted underscores in commenttype, commentauthorlink, commentdate, commentID,commenttime so that they become comment_type,comment_author_link, comment_date, comment_ID,comment_time. I guess your underscores didn’t show up properly when you wrote that reply to my comment. I also changed the – right before the comment date to the word on because it showed up as two question marks in my comments.
Now it works just great. :)

Concerning the vertical line before a reply, it’s still there and i can’t get rid of it. It should be a css problem but i haven’t been able to figure it out yet. Can you help me there? I only edited my css using the css you included in your instructions.
I notice that Perja who used your threaded comments also has that vertical line.

How exciting for you! Yes, the best thing is to be confident. Students can be such asses, they will readily exploit anyone if they sense weakness. Stay cool but firm and I’m sure you’ll make a wonderful teacher. You certainly know your stuff. :-)

Good luck on your job! I know you’ll be great at it! You’re a very intelligent and confident person. I’m sure everyone will respect you, and you’ll do really well. =) *hugs*

Sorry, the plugin does not work together with MoreMoose
I use MoorMoose to improve the appearance of the artice when you use tags.
The instructions delivered with the plugin on how to install are not very clear either. Didn’t get it working and after messing up my layout I quickly deactivitated it again.

August 21st, 2004 at 4:00 am

i don’t think i will keep providing this plugin as i coded my new code button. something like this would be more ideal than the plugin so it would be soon deleted.

i have a question dodo :) this new code hack… when you are posting code in an entry, will it too have a new textarea JUST to type in code? and will convert the slashes, and pointy brackets to the & – type code? :)

I’m very very proud of you sis!! :) Good luck with your classes. Teaching is fun. ^_^ Usually, our TA’s only teach the discussion sessions too. And the prof handles the class. But I know in reality, the TA’s do all the work. :)

I’m thinking about trying this out. I already edited my quicktags. What i need to do next is not clear. I have to edit functions.php? Just add in your code?If so,where exactly?

August 22nd, 2004 at 11:25 pm

Do you think you can implement Email notification with the threaded comments for wp? I noticed that I get emails whenever you reply to my comments. It would be nice to have this. :)
I know that many people on the wordpress forums wanted this and only one person did something about it but in a separate hack. There’s also Subscribe to comments by Scriptygoddess but it’s not what i want. My blog readers won’t be interested in seeing the comments by other people but rather, notifications of replies to their own comments.
From your past blog entry about threaded comments, I know that you used to have email notification but I’m not sure if it’s exactly the same thing I’m talking about.

August 22nd, 2004 at 11:41 pm
aline

I notice that the total comments count for a blog entry is accurate even when using threaded comments. However, the numbers next to the comments are not. I don’t have any number next to comments to which someone has replied to. For example there, the total number of comments is 15. Actually, it’s 14 but the trackback counted as 1 comment.ah well. Anyway,if you scroll down to see all the comments, you will see that the last one is number 10 and not number 15.

August 22nd, 2004 at 11:48 pm
Jenny

good luck. im sure you’ll do great.

August 23rd, 2004 at 12:05 am
dodo

that’s because there is no number shown next to your replies. your number count is done by <ol> not the script. some more work are required if you want the numbers to show up on the replies. i don’t plan to release my code on that coz it deals a lot more with the comment layout. i hate to say but i don’t want to provide any support for layouts. that’s more than my time can deal with. if scriptygoddess is willing to help, ask them. it’s not hard to figure out. you just need an extra counter variable in the loop and make it global in the dodosthread function.

August 23rd, 2004 at 9:10 am
Kay

I’m sure you’ll do fine :) Good luck, not that you’ll need it. Btw, I noticed you had a few password protected entries. Is a link you can direct me to on where you received the hack? Thanks.

August 23rd, 2004 at 7:14 pm
dodo

hrm password protected entry is a built in function of wp. just write with advanced mode and you will have an option to add a password to an entry.

I have a Chinese last name, so people always mispronounce it on their first try. Hehe. (And second, and third, and forth…) But I feel bad for you. Don’t worry, almost everyone has his/her last name mispronounced at least once every year. They wouldn’t mind. :)

I THINK THESE ARE THE GREATEST THINGS EVER CREATED for todays moder fashion forward woman!!!!!!!!
I CANNOT use tampons…so these thong maxi’s have been a heaven sent gift to make my once a month trauma more bearable. I some how went from never wearing thongs to only wearing them over the past 5 years…So, these allow me to continue to wear them throughout the month and not have to worry about panti lines. If you wear pads and thongs…I highly suggest you try them.

that brought back good memories of my dad’s siberian huskies. i remember them being so tiny and teething on the carpets and we kept finding teeth everywhere. we kept playing jokes on each other like .. i put some of the teeth in my mom’s coinpurse and when she found them she freaked out. she got even by putting the teeth in my bed that night. :p the jokes finally ended when i dropped one in my dad’s beer and he swallowed it hahaha. well *i* thought it was funny.

Have you tried adding your middle name or at least initial to the account? May be that will help prevent problems in the future. That’s what my mom does. Even though our last name isn’t really that popular, what are the chances of the first and last name also having the same middle name? XD If so, that’s just weird. hahaha In school, there were four “Vivian Wong”s in my grade which was really confusing for one of my teachers.

Bubo’s sweater is adorable! Judging my experiences with my boyfriend’s Fox/Jack Russel Terrier, she’ll chase away the big dogs but cower in fear around the small dogs. It’s actually quite amusing when she’s acting so tough but then tucks her tail and runs from a little Shih Tzu LOL Have fun on your trip… I don’t have time for my website right now, either :P

Omg, I’m sorry to hear this sis. Do your parents still live together? Or does she just drop by to drive him crazy? Can he have a restraining order on her? She sounds very dangerous… and needs help… sigh, you and your dad do not deserve to be treated like this..

Ahw, those pages are cute. Sometimes i miss those days when everything concerning webdesign and internet was one big secret to me. Some of the magic seems to be gone, but the good thing is that i get more confident. Teaching is hard, that’s why i chose not to do it. But it’s also a lot of fun, i’m sure you’ll manage it Dodo! Hmm, I was thinking maybe you’re students will just look at the pics on those websites and pick the cutest looking guy/girl to work with, lol.

Hehe, I tutor in an Intro to Web Design class, and I must say, those are better than some I’ve seen. They learn color choices after a while – especially when they have to stare at the pages for hours trying to figure out what’s wrong, or what else to add ^_^ They change their minds *real* quick!

On question though – why are you teaching them with Microsoft Office? Will you be moving on to DreamWeaver, or is it a real basic intro course? Frontpage is evil ^_^

Strangely enough, I never did use weird colour combinations on any of my first pages. I always remember doing white on black, or black on white – because common sense told me it was easiest to read. Thinking about it now, I think a darker gray on white probably would have been better.

My guinea pig loved to just nestle in my hair, she never chewed it, she just liked being in it. My brother’s snake likes to get tangled in hair. Also, I’m getting a puppy soon, and I have to choose from two of them (because I want a girl, and only 2 of 10 are girls…). One likes to chase and chew my hair a lot, and the other doesn’t really care, but will chew on it sometimes. Cats seem to like hair too, because I guess its like string or something.

Repeated studies have shown that aspartame does not cause allergic reactions, headaches, cancer, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, or Alzhemier’s disease. It does not affect vision, or cause changes in mood, behaviour or thought processes. It does not increase haemorrhagic risk, and it has no bad effects on dental health. On the other hand, some studies show that diet drinks with artificial sweeteners stimulate the appetite, which can lead to eating when you’re not hungry — which defeats the whole purpose of diet drinks.

Don’t worry; I don’t think putting a costume on the dogge would cause any imbarsement to him. It doesn’t imbarse babies when they get dressed up for Halloween, so I don’t assume a dogge is much different.

I couldn’t agree more. I hate how defensive my friends get when I try pointing out the faults in the Bush Administration. It’s like thy’re in a permanent state of denial. I would like for Kerry to win, but then again, there are so many misguided and uneducated people in the U.S. that it’s almost easy for Bush to win.

Just you using your age as support that you’re more educated than someone pretty much shows how misguided you are. I’ve seen 80 year olds act as stereotypical 10 year olds.

In case you want to take ‘educated’ in the literal sense – There’ve been 13 year olds at Oxford.

How dare you judge me?? I’ve made my choice and it’s quite unfair/rude to tag me as ‘misguided’ and ‘uneducated’. I don’t even know you and you know nothing about me!! Furthermore, just because I used my age to prove a point doesn’t make me ‘uneducated’, either. If you’d care to back up your facts before making such an absurd claim, you would see that on her website she stated that she was a high school senior. I’m a Junior in college. But whatever, I’m sure that no matter what I say, you’re going to continue believing whatever you want. Go ahead… good for you.

October 11th, 2004 at 5:52 pm
Lex

And how hare you judge other people? That’s not rude?

I really don’t get your double standard- If you can judge others based on their age, why can’t people judge you based on what you say?

October 11th, 2004 at 6:03 pm
Bubs

She judged me by saying that a Bush supporter is ‘misguided’ and ‘uneducated’ … I was only making an argument against hers, NOT JUDGING HER!! I suggest that you reread the previous posts. There is NO DOUBLE-STANDARD present in my argument.

October 11th, 2004 at 6:14 pm
Lex

So what was the reference to age and school grade to then?

October 11th, 2004 at 6:25 pm
Bubs

I stated a FACT as a part of my argument that just because I support GWB does not make me any less educated than someone who supports JK. Stating a fact and passing judgement are two totally different things.

October 11th, 2004 at 6:28 pm
Lex

Right, but making a reference to other people’s age and school grade? I know know about you, but I think that implys you think you’re more educated than someone else. If you wanted to state a fact to back up that you’re educated, wouldn’t you have just said somethig like, “I’m 20 and I’m in college so I’m not uneducated.”?

Neither does ‘education’ come with age or school, unless you want to talk about formal education. There’ve been cases of people with phDs who commit mass murder and suicides over rubbish resons.

And FYI, I’ve seen misguided people support both parties.

I would like to hear what Kerry will do, instead of all his attacking on Bush. Sure those attacks may be correct, but I think he should show more on his part. neh? I want some sincerity…plus, nobody remembers giving him three purple hearts…*shrug* Kerry has a firmer voice and more tion in it. It’s easy for people to believe he would be a strong leader.

It’s pretty useless arguing with Bush supporters, and Kerry supporters as well, they’ll never change their minds; this election is now up to the swing voters. It’s a shame how America’s split into this evenly divided two-party system. I just hope Kerry wins though.

October 13th, 2004 at 4:19 pm
donnie

To add, Conservatives, Republicans, and some Christians are Hippocrates, they want to make laws and want to vote people into office who will make laws to force their values on others and then turn around and chastise Muslim nations who have already done this very same thing for doing it. This is another reason why Bush needs to go.

October 27th, 2004 at 6:35 pm
Bubs

Wow…. I’m an idiot AND a hippocrite. Gee, thanks. I’m sure you’re quite the perfect American yourself. Good for you!

You don’t know one single thing about the Christian faith so quit talking like you do. Arguing this with you is pointless, so I’m out.

October 27th, 2004 at 8:42 pm
donnie

There can’t be a logical reason for supporting Bush over Kerry, it’s not about being close minded. I know nothing about you other than who you’re supporting for president. So when I say ’stupid’, I’m referring to that choice and all the stupid reason that I’ve heard Bush supporters give for supporting the man. Yet again you don’t get the point, like Dianna said, “I don’t think it’s about ‘disagreeing’, I think it’s about Bush supporters not seeing how he’s f’d us.” You’re entitled to vote for who you want to and for what ever reason you want too, but I still think that after all that bush has done to this country that anyone who supports him lacks good judgement.

October 27th, 2004 at 10:47 am
Lex

I don’t think so. Depending on the type of person you are, there are many reasons to support Bush. If I were Christian and wanted everyone to follow my religion, I’d worship Bush for blending the government and religion and trying to ban abortion, regardles of constitution. If I were rich or running a large business, I’d probably be kissing Bush’s ass for all the tax cuts and support he’s given companies and rich people and how he made layoffs so easy. If I working in oil, I’d probably be calling him my father right now because of the way he made it easier to buy SUVs.

^To us ‘little people’ these reasons are stupid, but if we were one of these people, voting for Bush isn’t just logical, it’s also the right thing to do.

October 27th, 2004 at 2:01 pm
donnie

LOL, you disagreed with me, but then went on to prove my point. It might be their reason for voting for him (that’s ok), but it’s still isn’t a good reason. America is made up of many religions. It wouldn’t be seen as ok to vote for a Muslim or Jewish person just because he/she shares your religion. Just like it wouldn’t be ok for people to vote simple because someone shares the same race and customs. It wouldn’t be ok to vote for a Jewish person because he/she will make laws to try to force others to follow their religious beliefs. Just as it wouldn’t be ok to vote a black person into office because we think they will force the rest of us to follow their customs. When you vote you have to think about what’s good for the country as a whole. Not caring about the millions of middle class, the hundreds of thousand that lost their jobs, the hundreds of thousand that lost their health care, children, small business, people who have other religious belief, minorities, our standing in the world, and the people who are losing their lives in Iraq all because you’re worried about paying higher taxes and want to force others by law to follow your religious values is just plain wrong, selfish, and shows poor judgement. To me that’s being stupid. Voting for and supporting a billion of dollars a month war and then not wanting to pay higher taxes to support that war is stupid. Making under two hundred thousand a year and supporting Bush because of his tax cuts that you didn’t get is stupid. Believe that the war in Iraq was a success for the president is being senile. Voting for bush because he’ll try to force his religion on others is anti-American and goes against everything that this country was built on. That’s why many came to this country in the first place, because they weren’t free to follow their religion in England. etc, etc, etc. I could go on for days. There isn’t a good and logical reason to vote for the man over Kerry.

October 27th, 2004 at 6:19 pm
Dorie

Aww… I missed that debate… oh well. I don’t see what’s wrong with supporting Bush though… everyone has their own opinions and stuff. doesn’t make you any smarter or stupider if you support Bush or Kerry or w/e.

And before anybody starts telling me how stupid Bush is, I don’t support Bush… but I don’t support Kerry either. I don’t support any of the candidates. =P

Anyway, I wouldn’t want Bush or Kerry to win. Either side gets into hot debates about who should win. Personally, I’m independant. =P Voting for kerry is like driving in the daytime with the lights on, and voting for Bush is like driving in the night with the lights off. So… I choose neither. When you look at it all in perspective, Bush and Kerry’s agendas seem to be about the same. *shrug*

Too bad nobody ever votes independant! Enough with this two-party thing!

Well personally I hope Bush wins. I’m only 14 (but as some of you have so firmly established, age doesn’t matter when it comes to education :D )

I watched debates 1 and 2, and I’ll grant Kerry this: he’s a wonderful speaker, and beats Bush on all accounts when it comes to public speaking. He’s much more eloquent and doesn’t stumble over words. (internets!) However his answers seemed to lead around in circles. He said he had a plan for the war on Iraq. What plan? I listened to his words several times and I couldn’t discern anything that added up to a plan. Whereas Bush is rather outright about what he says and states it simply (but repeatedly!) Yeah, I thought he did pretty bad in the first debate but really stood his ground in the third.

Well, I just wanted to say my piece. I hate this animosity between Kerry & Bush supporters. There are of course some people who are absolutely impossible, but I have friends who think differently than me and I totally respect that. ^_^

Hm…. I am a Bush supporter. But just because people have different political views doesn’t mean that they should get into arguements about it! I mean, just because one of you is a boy and maybe one of you is a girl doesn’t , mean that you’re gonna argue, you can still be friends! And anyways, whats the point of arguing something with someone halfway across the planet that you’ll probably never speak to again?

This sounds just like more propaganda to me -_- It’s hard to tell what’s correct and what’s wrong these days.

Personally, I don’t like Kerry or Bush. Kerry does say he will make America better, but he never says how he will do it. And IMO, Bush’s stances and ways of doing things are obviously wrong.

I see people voting for Kerry for the sake of keeping Bush out of office, but considering he never says what he will do exactly, he could be worse.

I don’t live in the states, but I found this post interesting as I’ve been watching from the sidelines. I don’t particularly like Kerry, but I’m not overly fond of Bush either. I’m so glad I won’t have to cast a vote on this one, I’d be completely lost! :

lol, people treat this like its a popularity contest. Everyone claims that they don’t like Kerry but they can’t ever give good reasons to back up why they feel that way. It shouldn’t even matter if you “like” him or not. He’s not auditioning to be your best friend, he’s running to be the president of our country. This country is full of gullible idiots. They’re so easily fooled and tricked. I think it’s because Bush is simple minded and not very bright and that some Bush supporters connect with him on that level. If people made their decision strictly on job performance, credibility, and experience no one in their right mind would vote for Bush. Why is it that the rest of the world can clearly see what half of this country can’t.

Wow, another person who believes that anyone who disagrees with him/her are ‘gullible idiots’ … and I thought the liberals were the ‘open-minded’ ones in the country LOL Thanks for informing me that since I support Bush that I’m out of my mind.

I don’t think it’s about ‘disagreeing’, I think it’s about Bush supporters not seeing how he’s f’d us. “IMO”

And if their stances and opinions won’t make you like/hate a person, what will? Personally if I don’t find a person credible or fitting for a job he insists on getting, I don’t like him.

About Americans being gullible idiots- a president of a democratic country (a supposedly democartic country anyway) is supposed to be a representative of the average person in that country. If the president is an idiot who can’t even speak his own language, what does that say about the people? :p

If I were an American citizen I’d probably vote for Kerry. As a brit, I find Bush dangerous.

I’ve been watching Fox News (well, the version we get on Sky here) and while Kerry does seem pretty unclear on solutions, many of his scare tactics to win votes are based on ‘actuals’ such as Social Securty etc rather than the ‘hypotheticals’ which Bush seems to rely on.

My impression, as an average joe over is that, while neither are ideal candidates for office, on the global scale it doesn’t appear to me that Kerry would get away with half of what George W has and would be an all round better bet for democracy and a fairer representation of the US.

October 23rd, 2004 at 7:26 pm

Exactly, it’ isn’t about disagreeing. They can’t or for what ever reason choose not to see what sitting right in front of their face. Leads me to believe that the only reason they support Bush is because of his religion, his political affiliation, and because he’s from the Midwest. They couldn’t possible support him because he is a good president with a good record. Any business/company who has an employee who has blundered or fail as miserably has Bush has would immediately fire the person and would give the next logical applicant a chance. For some unknown, un-rational, and un-logical reason Republicans think that a failure would do better than a guy who clearly is more promising and more suited for the job. Bush had four years and has a record that’s worse than any other president in US history and they still “claim” that they trust him. If that’s not being gullible and being an idiot I don’t know what is. Republicans are idiots. The whole world and Liberals can see that Bush re-electing Bush would be a big mistake, so why can’t they see it?

It’s about disagreeing. Your politics are clearly different than mine. Just because we differ, I’m an idiot. It’s really sad you think this way. *shakes head* I’m not even going to give you my reasons for supporting Bush because I’m sure that you’re too close-minded to even take my views into consideration. I would never call someone an idiot just because they had different political views than I.

Bub you seem to be missing my point all together or just refuse to pay any attention to it. I made valid points that supported what I said. You pay no attention to the facts and you don’t even give any reasons to rebut anything that I said…. You’re so stuck on one word and refuse to comprehend my argument as a whole. I now see why you support Bush. It isn’t a personal attack on you. It’s an attack on the reason why people say that they support Bush. As I said earlier, “I know nothing about you other than who you’re supporting for president. So when I say ’stupid’, I’m referring to that choice and all the stupid reason that I’ve heard Bush supporters give for supporting the man.” I guess that went over your head or you missed me saying that. You also don’t know what I know or don’t know about the Christian faith. I have preachers and ministers in my family. My family runs a churchs. I didn’t go to public schools, I grow up going to private Christian schools. I may know more about the Christian faith than you do.

If I proved your point, please let me know how?

Just because you think it’s not a good reason doesn’t mean it isn’t a good reason to everyone else- stating your opinions as fact doesn’t make you smarter than than people you call idiots. It just makes you one of them. After all, don’t you hate them for forcing their belifs on everyone else?

Different people have different values and opinions, and different criteria a president should fit. Obviously some people think religion is the most important of all. Why can’t you just accept that?

October 28th, 2004 at 4:58 am
donnie

Reread my response to you. You all seem like you just want to argue and not lesson to what I’m saying.

“After all, don’t you hate them for forcing their beliefs on everyone else?” Yes I do hate it and you should too. That’s my point. Them voting for someone only because the person shares the same religion and that person will try to make laws to force that religion on the rest of the country is just plain wrong. It goes against what this country was founded on. When we start doing that we’ll end up being like all the other counties where people have limited freedom of religion. We’ll start having religious wars and conflicts. It may be important to them, but it’s not a good reason to vote someone into office strictly based on a persons religion. You vote them into office based on what’s best for the country, their record, their experience, etc. Who said I was smarter? Why do I have to repeat this over and over again, “So when I say ’stupid’, I’m referring to that choice and all the stupid reason that I’ve heard Bush supporters give for supporting the man.” You all aren’t comprehending a word that I’m saying. I also said that people are entitled to vote for who they want to. But even if my racial customs are important to me, it still isn’t right for me to vote for a guy just because he’s white and disregard any other qualification the man may have or not have. Yes religion my be important to them, but not caring or focusing on anything else other than the religion of a man who is running to be the president of the strongest super power on this planet isn’t smart. To me the rational is similar to being on a jury and making a decision based only on the defendant’s religion, race, and personal beliefs, all the while disregarding all the rest of the evidence. From your responses I take it that you’ll also agree that it would be wrong if I though that my way was right so Bush supporters should think like I do would be wrong. Again that’s my argument and that’s exactly arguing against. People need to understand that this country is made up of different races, religions, customs, and ideas. Just because you think one way doesn’t mean that it’s OK to try to force others to think and act like you think they should. So how can you then agree with people voting for Bush because they believe that he’ll do the very same thing that you’re trying to accuse me of doing? We do agree. It’s their right as Americans. Even though I disagree with who they’re supporting for president it would be STUPID for me to vote someone into office who would do anything to take away or infringe on other peoples rights and values even if they differ from mine.

Ok… I read all your comments, and it was all highly amusing. I will refrain from touching them directly, except the last one, That link you posted Mr. Chris; the first add that popped up for it was an Ann Coulter add. This woman has proposed to kill all arabs and convert any that surrender to Christianity… she’s more extreme than Michael Moore. (On the Right)

All credibility of that site flew out the window. It’s like going to the Onion for real news.

Don’t believe everything you read, look into stuff, I am very well read, I travel the world, and yes, I’m voting for Kerry, not because I like him or hate him personally, but he is much closer to what I value in a President than Bush is.

Look around for more sites than one. Read one, go to another, and then to 10 more. Compare them all and get your facts straight.

Fact: Bush keeps accusing Kerry to vote for raising taxes. He sights that he voted 98 times to do this.

Kerry did in fact, vote to raise taxes 98 times… but this was of over 600 votes in a 20 year period…

Now, on the Bush defense side…

Kerry accuses Bush’s plan for illegal immigration as reckless and costing too much money.

Fact: Bush’s plan for temporary working permits allows for better tracking, actual taxing on what they get paid, increasing the governments revenue, and allowing harsher punishments on those without permits, overall, it is a much nicer system than Kerry’s.

What I’m trying to say is this, get all your facts straight. Don’t look at the crap that’s going around now, it’s election time for both these people, they’re both slinging mud. Research their records over the last twenty years. See what they REALLY stand for, not what they’re saying for votes. Then, see which canidate is stronger on what matters to you, whether it is religion or not, and vote for that person.

Sweetie, although I don’t know you very well and haven’t been able to keep up with your blog lately, I don’t know if it necessarily helps to “admit” to having depression. Clinical conditions are diagnosed based on how much or how little control you have in spite of the symptoms. Everyone shows signs of depression, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are depressed in the medical sense of the word. However, it’s great that you’ve decided that you need help for whatever it is that has been weighing on you – even if ‘help’ just means having someone to talk to, or starting a collection of self-help books. Just wanting to let you know that you’ve got love and support from this side of the world too, whatever you decide to do. :)

heheh MANY of those apply to me. :D

Lex

I’m Chinese and few of those applt to me… I never shave, I hate foil on my stove, I don’t wear glasses (I’ve studied in China before and the studies are definately not hard enough to give people glasses. I think it’s rather to do with classroom size. Sometimes I wondered if people behind could see the blackboard at all -_-), I prefer beating eggs with a fork and I don’t even know what a wok is… what’s a wok anyway o.o?

Aneesah

I’ve read something like this before, but at another site. I’m Malaysian though, just a tiny part Chinese (one of my grandparents was Chinese). And yeah, a lot of those apply to me. D’you think it’s really an Asian/Chinese thing? Are we like super money savers? Isn’t everybody like that? I mean, people who aren’t exactly millionaires…

I like cheese though. Especially the kind on pizzas. Mozarella. Oh, and it’s spelled Parmesan.

My dad (who’s the half-Chinese) doesn’t. He hates cheese.

:) Happy holidays!

here’s a wok. a lot newer than mine. mine does not have a flat bottom so it’s not ideal to use on electric stove like the one i have now. in the apartment we used to live, they have gas stove so it worked a lot better. i hate electric stove arg.

Yeah, driving in the snow is awful…. It’s pretty easy to spin out of control…. The trick is just to lower your speed on the highway, and especially lower it on bridges (they freeze first) and on and off ramps (they’re not as well maintained as the road)…. and don’t hit the breaks suddenly, it makes things worse…. Okay, I’ll stop it with my snow driving tips…. Your doggie is sooooooo cute, Dodo! :D

January 5th, 2005 at 9:47 pm
dodo

i was going a bit fast on the ramp i guess. 45mph maybe? i didn’t think it was fast since i was just following everyone in front of me. but obviously a tiny mistake will become biig. it could be a lot worse and tons people’s cars were in the ditch yesterday. we have to be put on a waiting list by the towing company.

January 6th, 2005 at 8:40 am
Jem

Glad to hear that you’re ok.

January 6th, 2005 at 9:45 am
nikkiana

Yeah, 45 mph on an on ramp in the snow is probably a little bit too fast… Generally a good on/off ramp speed is around 25-30mph depending on how slippery, and 45 is a good highway speed. (That’s the general rule of thumb up here).

I don’t know how it is where you are, but I know up here you have to watch out for SUVs on the highway because they think they’re invincible…. So they go flying down the highway in the snow going 60 and when you see them two miles up the road, they’re in the ditch.

January 6th, 2005 at 11:29 am
Michelle

oh dear. so glad you’re ok!! i’m a new driver too!! it’s just so scary on the road sometimes!! i stll do not dare to drive alone yet!! snow!! i wanna see snow!!!

well at least you’re fine. no bruise or anything serious. I experianced something like that. I wasn;t driving but the driver suddenly came to a halt and we all went tumbling inside. it was worse, coz a lady by my side got her whole face swollen… urgh….accidents are really scary…another good thing that you were’nt having any paranoia about it.

i’m sorry about your dad. seems like a perfect reason to ruin your perfect night of celebration. You must feel a bit or a lot awful, nevertheless, abruptly knowing that your dad has been put behind bars isn’t such a good thing for all of you. I can’t advise you anything, but just here to listen.

Anyway, I can’t congratulate the bride because “congratulations” goes for the groom! Congrats to Andy for having you.. And you, BEST WISHES!!!!!!! lol … Love each other and learn to accept the good and the bad and work it all out… mwaaah!

cool idea dodo! :) but about the comments being automatically approved. What if like someone is a fequent commenter, and their email is in the db, and their comments are automatically approved, but a flammer just copy and paste the other person’s email address into their comment, so their comments will be approved as well.

Taylor (talkative)

Great way to go dodo! Skippy’s idea was cool, and I like the modification so that you odn’t have to repeatedly check everytime you comment. Although it’s not fool proof as you said, best said by ecila:

What if like someone is a fequent commenter, and their email is in the db, and their comments are automatically approved, but a flammer just copy and paste the other person’s email address into their comment, so their comments will be approved as well.

Mmm. It’s still a good idea.

January 19th, 2005 at 5:03 am
dodo

well first the flamer has to know which email the frequent commenter used and then after i realize it’s a flame message, i will update the all of the commenter’s email addresses in the database and inform him/her to not to use that email address any more.

January 19th, 2005 at 9:45 am
dodo

when the commenter’s avatar does not exist, it returns a 1×1 pixel gif so just use getimagesize on the gravatar and if the width is not 1, do this.. else do nothing.

January 19th, 2005 at 9:47 am
dodo

you are supposed to…. any replies to your commenter will be emailed to you. altho i could have write a check to make sure you don’t get your own comments notification.. but i haven’t done that. it has nothing to do with the plugin tho.

bubs, this is what i did. in your gravatar.php plugin file. add these code before the } of the function

$imagesize = getimagesize($out);
	if($imagesize[0] != 1) {
 $out = "<a href=\"http://gravatar.com/\" rel=\"external\" title=\"".$author."'s gravatar. Upload your own gravatar at gravatar.com\"><img src=\"".$out."\" class=\"gravatar\" alt=\"".$author."'s gravatar. Upload your own gravatar at gravatar.com\" /></a>\n";
 echo $out;
	}

btw, somehow it doesn’t work with rating. so i just commented out this line
$out .= "&rating=".$rating;

January 19th, 2005 at 4:46 pm
dodo

btw, i’m removing my implementation, it slows my comments form loading too much :(

i found yesterday that there’s an alternative called favatars but i think i’m just gonna not do either.

My php skills are a bit rusty. Here’s the code I’ve placed inside my wp-comments:

<?php
	$size = getimagesize(gravatar());
	if ($size[0] != 1 && $size[1] != 1) { ?>
 <a href="http://gravatar.com/" target="_blank"><img src="<?php gravatar("", 40); ?>" alt="<?php comment_author() ?>'s Gravatar. Upload your Gravatar for free
at Gravatar.com!" border="0" class="grav" /></a>
<?php } ?>

What parameters do i need for the getimagesize function?

It is a bit laggy, but I don’t know if it’s the gravatars themselves. My comments became slow when I added the getimagesize to the grav function. Of course, I could be wrong ;)

yes it’s probably the getimagesize.. but without it, there is no easy way to find whether a user has a gravatar or not

January 19th, 2005 at 8:44 pm

or i suppose you can use the default gravatar option but i don’t really like it oh well

Before I decided to add the border and padding, the 1×1 pixel image didn’t make a difference in my comments. There wasn’t any space or anything. When I was using the b2 plugin, however, there was a small space. Maybe the WP plugin takes that into consideration somehow? I dunno.

January 19th, 2005 at 9:41 pm
dodo

as far as i know.. it does not. yes if you do not put border and stuff, it should not affect your layout. however it looks bad without border IMO.

Great addition to my plugin! Would you mind sharing the code for that bit? I’m sure others would enjoy using it, and I can easily make it an option to enable or disable in commentauth.php.

I’m working on a new version, after discovering the cause of some of the problems people had been experiencing. I’d love to include your improvements.

Aaaawwww…. those plushiessss are soooooo cute! and i love your desk so much. I wish I’d have a desk like that. or a cubicle… but alas…. being an independent auditor (soon) would confine me outside. i don’t know which bit you are talking about? i did not update your plugin code. btw, your valid_email function does not really work. i recommend this function.

you are welcome to include any of my code. just a line comment of credit is fine.

good job :)

January 21st, 2005 at 1:00 pm
skippy

i think it’s kinda annoying to ask your regular commenters repeatedly moderate their own comments. so i added a little modification where your script tests if the commenter’s email already exists in the database or not. if it does, it will be automatically approved, otherwise an email with an approval link is sent to the user.

So, did you or did you not modify the plugin?

btw, your valid_email function does not really work.

In the latest version (see below) I have removed that bit in favor of the is_email() function provided with WordPress.

Anyway, I took your auto-approval idea, and wrapped it into a new version of my plugin, which is currently being beta tested. When I’ve confirmed that it’s working properly, I’ll officially release it.

Cheers!

January 21st, 2005 at 2:01 pm
dodo

yes i modified the script.. which is POSTED IN this post.. if you “click” the link to my code posted here. i modified wp-comments-post.php

but since you already modified your plugin. then all is good.

Wow your plushies are so cute Dodo! ^^;; And I love the Bubo graphic =D

And I hate designing layouts for centralized blog services too. It’s annoying, how you don’t have complete control over the code. And then some services place limitations on the code you can use and place ads on your site… – -;; Oh well.

I did some research on this myself a while back, my husband is diabetic..so a lot of what is available for him as far as sweets contains aspartmanine. I heard this from my dad and did a little research on this myself. It turned out that many of the so called studies saying Aspartmine is so extremely bad for you werent really provable…a lot of the articles cited non specific sources..etc. Im trying to dig up the article I felt showed this the most – but take a look at these too.

Great script! I found a simple photo gallery (from squidfingers) but it didn’t have all the features of yours. You can offer it as a paid script. It’d definitely be something I would buy. Also the script could be improved with captions, but that’s all I can think of at the moment.

January 26th, 2005 at 1:40 am
dodo

well the caption is supposed to be your file name. you can add a description obviously. you are expected to give your photo file a meaningful name. i do want to improve it here and there. maybe allow a few options here and there. i will think about it. thanks :)

January 26th, 2005 at 2:58 am

And of course you cant upload gifs with any script that I tested.

January 26th, 2005 at 4:43 am
Brenda

Hey Dodo, I would definitely use a script like this! I was hunting high and low for a gallery script which doesn’t require mySQL as well. :P

January 26th, 2005 at 9:32 am
Sarah

Basically, your script looks like an updated version of Squidfingers Gallery. I use it for my gallery. The only thing I don’t like about it is that I can’t organize photos by folders or categories.

I use a different gallery script but I didn’t like the code so much. That one, I think, uses captions that you put in a text file.

January 26th, 2005 at 11:07 am
Erin

Ooh, looks very simple and clean. I use Cine’s gallery script , but it does use mysql. It’s very customizable. I do like the massive upload option yours has tho… Cine’s can only upload one at a time.

January 26th, 2005 at 11:58 am
dodo

i really don’t think an external caption file is necessary. since you already have the description file. just name your file give_a_very_good_name.jpg and the script will replace all _ with space and get rid of the extension and use that as the caption. should be perfect. no extra work.

January 26th, 2005 at 12:36 pm
ecila

awesome planning :)
i personally never use the ‘hits’ a picture get, or the ratings xP

But I do love SimpleViewer (http://www.airtightinteractive.com/simpleviewer/ – and my demo http://quiix.net/purr/grr/) It was so simple to set up and upload my pictures. The downside to this for your needs would be that it’s a flash viewer xD and obviously not very customizable with your layouts. But i’m just saying how that’s really simple too (i love it that it auto-generates thumbnails! which you plan to include, which is a nessessity! :D)

Good luck with your gallery dodo! :) And oh don’t be silly, and feel bad about not sharing. It’s YOUR HARD work, you should do what you please with it :)

leslie said it must use a lot of bandwidth since it loads the images even if you don’t view them. tho very good quallity images but haha it will be a killer for a site like mine that already has very severe bandwidth problem.

January 26th, 2005 at 8:12 pm
ecila

lol, ahh that leslie, always the party pooper! heeh, but i admit, it probably does use up a lot of bandwidth (good thing my gallery is small, and i doubt will grow too much xD) But yea, must conserve bandwidth :x

Very cool! How are you defining how the thumbnails will be created? How does it know where to crop (or are you doing that manually)?

Example: in /More_Andy_and_Dodo/Our_Old_Photos

I found the Coppermine gallery script to be pretty easy to use and it has a lot of things you can do in there… I used it for my sisters album.

January 27th, 2005 at 1:15 am

Congrats on the marriage, Dodo! :D What wonderful news! Gosh, we’re all growing up. But be careful – soon everyone is going to ask you when you’re going to have a baby! Ack!

Also regarding your parents, remember that every problem is an opportunity for change. Even if the opportunity is not taken, it is good that you and your parents have these opportunities. How did court go? If you don’t want to discuss, I hope it went well.

January 27th, 2005 at 5:52 am
dodo

no the thumbnails are generated automatically like i mentioned in the feature list. it’s just a php function that uses GD.
i don’t like coppermine coz i can not incoporate its design into my layout very easily. just like 4images, i will have to have a separate design for it. i don’t want that. also it has more features than i need. and also i don’t want to use a database.
i’m still trying to improve the script so i can add description more easily.

Hey sis, you can also use this class to create thumbnails for your gallery script! It’s awesome. You just pass the width you want and it’ll generate it dynamically. You wouldn’t need MORE space to hold the thumbnails AND the original photos!

Too be honest, I have no clue. I had that recommended to me and I noted some of the key features so I can recommend it if people ask for some gallery scripts to use.

I have a lot of problems with cops. I know most times they are doing their jobs and i appreciate that, but i found my sisters stolen truck driving around my area before they did, they werent even looking

How freakin annoying, I cant believe its legal for them to harass you like that. take a photo of your license, thats werid. Id begin to wonder if it was a fake cop or something, but then again you said he had a cop car though right? Lady probably crashed and fucked up her car and is trying to blame it on you. ERRRR things like that piss me off, im sorry it happened to you

cops dont think straight ever. their brain is working off coffee and powdered sugar donuts. yea he was doin his job, but its unlikely that he remembers what his job is half the time.

January 28th, 2005 at 5:40 am

sarah.. are you talking about “caption” or “description” – i’d think caption is just a title for a photo. description can be lengthy. my script does support that. i.e. this photo. and i just improved my script last night so you can edit description thru cp. no longer have to do it manually.

Ok, I think that is a complete invasion of privacy. I mean, how many people have dents in their cars? HONESTLY? Could the reason the dent is the same height is because most cars are the same freaking size??? If I were you I’d file a complaint. That is the most stupid thing I’ve ever heard in my life.

if you’re gonna use a WP plugin, you should at least have some idea of how plugins work (ie: where to upload the things, how to activate them). you shouldn’t have to spell every single thing out. I like your scripts and have had very few problems with them – and when I did have problems, you were always willing to help out.

February 4th, 2005 at 12:44 am
Cine

I’m agreeing with Krissy here, I’ve never had any problems with your scripts either, and if you’re going to use plugins I do think you should have a little knowledge on how they work generally.

I almost always have that problem with almost every script/addon I use; I usually have to ask someone, especially when it deals with PHP and editing files. I don’t think about asking the creators…mainly because I don’t want to be a bother because I figure they’re ALWAYS bothered. It wasn’t meant to be taken in an offensive manner. It was literally my first WP plugin and the very reason I switched to wordpress in the first place, so I didn’t know where to upload it or that I had to activate it. So, for the beginner yea it was a little confusing because I had to read the php file, which was different and I kept thinking I was missing something obvious (which I was). I’m sorry I came off as mean in that post, because I really enjoy the coding you do, I’m just not great at applying my (limited) knowledge of it in situations where it requires me to. I dislike editing files, I always break them. XD

February 5th, 2005 at 8:29 pm
dodo

no offense taken. just explanation as why sometimes i may not give as much info as i would have liked :) good luck with your plugin.

February 10th, 2005 at 3:40 pm

Yup, I admit it. I’ve been using your script for years. But its a quite different version than the one you originally released.

I used to host some of my my sites through an Australian hosting service (even though I’m in Texas, USA) and they have a version that has been rewritten with a ‘user modifiable’ section for newbies.

I hope you don’t mind, but it’s a well written script and has been very stable.

Thanks.

My friends have been rabidly following this news story. I think it’s much more scandalous than the Lewinski scandal a few years back.

The bloggers don’t even have any kind of journalistic experience. They just used the power of Google to unearth all of this :)

i guess i don’t know your definition of “scandalous” – as i haven’t heard of it on TV news yet but again internet is the media for the new generation.

February 15th, 2005 at 11:57 am
Bobbi

The media never covers stuff like this. When you trace it back, all the major news media is owned by about 12-13 various people. I’ll see if I can find that, it’s pretty interesting. If it is covered, they’ll do a short blurb on it, then jump to the Michael Jackson trial, Superbowl, American Idol or whatever else they can to grab anyone’s attention. That’s why I HATE watching the news. I like reading news stories online because I can get a variety of different views, not just one.

This kind of stuff happens ALL the time. >_< It’s really annoying.

aww Bunnywunny, don’t feel too bad. Dodo understands. =)

That girl is a bit weird tho… why offer hosting, if you don’t have a domain and host to begin with? Seems like she just wanted the domain name to make dodo mad or something.. and the nerve of her to post that on dodo’s board? *shakes head* Some people.. grrr…

August 29th, 2001 at 4:07 am

Oh wow! You bought both? hehe.. That’d be so kool.. you can have all your hostees on one domain, and lots of other things on the other… hehe… or mirror sites! lol

They are just jealous! Sad enough as it is, the only reason they do it is to boost their own morale. How people can boost morale from posting immature comments will always remain a mystery to me… Don’t worry about it though. I think you handled it better than most!

Haha, that’s kinda funny. ^^;; My friend did something like that when someone flamed them, it was so funny! That’s a great idea dodo~! ^.^/! I hate flames too! I’ve gotten some before. The basicially said my site and I sucked and that anyone could make a cr*p site like mine. I don’t get their problem. But I just feel sorry for them though. They’re such cowards too!

Hey, this is that girl who flamed you older sister, Heidi.

I was on the internet and I was on your site, because I check out regretless.com all the time, it’s so beautiful. Anyways, I was going to sign the guestbook when my mum called me and then my younger sister Katie, who is 12, decided she would type in some stuff and send it – because she’s at that annoying immature age. *Major apologies Dodo*

But please can you not show my ip and everything because I don’t appreciate it being up here, nor will my father.

We have had a hacker once before that completley trashed the computer up =(.

Heidi xox.
