The Two Towers

Andy’s brother has bought The Two Towers DVD so we watched the movie AGAIN. OH GOD, it’s soooo good. I love it from my heart. I have to say this is really one of the best movies ever made. They showed a preview for the 3rd movie. Now I seriously can’t wait for it to come out. We need a count down

little tigers

1 ~ 2 ~ 3 ~ 4 Little Tigers - recently I found some little tigers’ songs online. They were a popular singing group in the earlier 90s’. They were extremely popular during my elementary school years. In many cases, I like them much better than the recent F4. They became famous because of their SONGS instead of soap opera. They sing so much better than F4 ever can. I loved them when they were still a group. They quickly dissociated though because of the military obligations in Taiwan. I remember I used to want to buy their tapes so bad but I never had the money to. Here are some of their best songs, all in mp3 format:

I’ve been obsessed ever since I found them. I turned the speakers volume up last nite when listening to them. andy said he had never seen me listening to any songs that loud. these songs bring so many memories back. i remembered we had a dancing contest in fourth grade and i danced with their “Stars’ Party” song. many of my friends and i used to sing their songs over and over in spare time during school. the thing is their songs didn’t focus on love relationship as much as many of the recent songs. they are dedicated more to “growing up”, “dreaming for the future” etc. they were just perfectly fitting for our youth. oh dear.. now i want to cry.. esp. after listening to their “Goodbye” - saying goodbye to youth.. that’s for sure
Chow Yun-fat Shanghai Tan

my dad got one of the most popular soap operas byChow Yun-fat on cd. it was released in the early 1980s before i was born. it’s named Shang Hai Tan. of course the story happened in Shanghai - the city where I came from. altho the soap opera was made in HK, when it was first released in shanghai, it became unbelievably popular. according to my father, whenever the soap opera was playing, you could barely see people walking in the streets. OMG after that was released, many different versions of the story were made. but none of them became as popular. some people argue the soap opera made Chow Yun-fat popular in china as a whole. and that was the beginning of his star career. i’ve seen the newest version of the story. altho i liked it but i have to admit the old school one i’m watching now is far more addictive. the quality of the rm files is very poor but i couldn’t stop watching it due the story and acting. MAN Chow Yun-fat looks so young and so thin in there..

I think I’m obsessed with this song. It’s zai zai’s “make a wish”. *feel free to download it if you want!* altho his poor accent, *he can’t even pronounce “MAKE” correctly for god’s sake* i still like this song. much because of his cute appearance. he’s rather cute in my eyes. fits my taste for pretty feminine looking guys.. i think he’s the cutest among F4. but you know what, no one in F4 is truly talented. they are popular because of their LOOKS! i’ve seen couple interviews with them, they can’t even articulate. i think in chinese entertainment (if not all countries), there are two groups of celebrities. ones that acquire fame by true talents and others acquire it by cute appearance. it does take a lot more of effort to acquire fame by true talents and those who do should get more respect. but the truth is they don’t. i hate myself for doing this but i can’t help liking the cute appearance. my affection usually doesn’t last too long. talking about my obsession with Zheng Yi Jian =P
da S’ new soap opera

WOAH not fair not fair.. remember HER? yea she’s the actress of the female main character in meteor garden now she’s got MY costume on in her new soap opera GHOST. seriously i’ve been wanting to wear that kind of custom ever since i was a child. whenever i watch gu3 zhuang1 xi4 and see those customs..i dream about myself wearing those. i never had an opportunity tho to wear any tho. and of course they don’t ever sell those on markets

OMG i can’t believe they have some of my favorite author’s books translated into English, the translation bites but it’s still worthwhile reading for the storyline. a patch of cloud is one of the first stories i ever read from her. YAY! all of her 50 novels have been transformed into movies or soap operas. i really wish i could see some of the really old movies, but most of them are out of print
new chinese pop songs

due to some requests, i uploaded some more extracted chinese pop songs from my cd. they are here. You MUST “right click” and “save target as” to your own computer in order to listen to them coz geocities suck. anyway, hope you enjoy them. there were some requests about the lyrics. if i have time, i will try to translate some.
in addition, i found some chinese singers gallery.. awww i still think Vivian Chow has the prettiest face. she looks just like those anime characters. i say she’s been on quite a few magazine covers? and ekin cheng looks SO DIFFERENT when he has short hair compare to long hair. arg.. he needs to have LONG HAIR!

We actually just wanted to go to Walmart for some grocery shopping tonite. We had a lot of time on hands when we were done so we decided to cruising around the mall for a bit. that turned out to be the greatest shopping for me for quite a while. i got two pieces of clothing, both are cheap and pretty. here’s a shirt i got for $6.99 and a blue sweater for $10 from old navy. the sweater is so warm and i LOVE its neck! it’s so unique and it shows my necklece. on top of that, we finally got a cd visor! $4.99 for 12 cds Then i also got this 2 qrt sauce pan i always wanted. it’s on special for $12.95 and it came with a steamer too!! check THIS OUT. it’s marked down from $59.10!!! yay baby! isn’t this cookware store hilarious or what? so great shopping nite!
first US robot vacuum

wow, daynah showed me this robot vacuum, it looks amazing. it goes around your house and vacuums all the floors for you. OMG it looks like a discman, i can’t believe it. it’s not even that expensive.. check it out!

everyone! turn on your TV, the orange ball is on! Iowa Hawkeyes is IN IT.. i’m gonna watch it. i’m so excited that Iowa got in this time. I can’t wait to see Iowa win. yay!!
i’ve been cleaning up the whole apartment.. and making curry beef stew. i’m so proud of myself about the cleaning. aww.. it makes you feel completely refreshing when the entire living space is neat 
but i kinda messed up the stew since i put WAY TOO MUCH curry in it. arrg.. it made taste bitter.. i had to dump half of the soup out and add more water. it’s finally reaching its last stage. hopefully it will turn out ok despite of my strew up. prays now all is done. my next biggest project will be to WASH MY WINTER COAT. it’s sooooooo dirty. it has to be hand washed.

the two towers rocks!!!!!!!! we went last nite. it was even better than i expected. i like it better than the first one. Legolas is so cool!! OMG.. he’s done so much COOL fighting, you won’t believe it. and the dawrf is just hilarious in this one. if you haven’t seen it, you REALLY SHOULD!! as soon as possible!! you are missing something big
oh yeah, i almost forgot, before we left for the movie, i played with my mashimaro to make andy jealous hehe.
