i’m going to apply for this summer job, but i have couple concerns. i’m still planning to go back to china this summer for two weeks, i don’t know if that would affect the summer schedule. i told my boss at the computer lab i will work for the lab again this summer that coz i’m really not expecting to get the new job. i mean i don’t really have that much experience in that area, i would like to. they claim they provide significant training, but how much is significant. nevertheless i got a transcript today. the only thing is i don’t know how to write a cover letter. help anyone? gotta search for some templates.
The job would be amazing Dodo! Especially what you would have to do…brains are yummie! 😀 I hope they offer training, that would be cool. Good luck Dodo! Ugh cover letter, no idea, sorry. Did you ever visit the Chinese Wall? Is it really cool?
hmmm? cover letter? like a formal title page-ish thing?
the thing you could put on top of a project/report??
because if so… it goes something along the lines of
“title”

then… hmm? that’s about it, since it’s like for a résumé… i guess that’s it? but you should try dodo! hehe you’re so smart! hehe g’luck!
dodo you’re smart and even if you don’t have experience, i bet you can learn pretty quickly. And visiting China is a good choice too. Hopefull I can have a short vacation sometime this summer at some other asian city
Sis, you don’t exactly need to have experience to take the job. You LEARN on the job! Go for it sis! Like me… I knew nothing about php or mysql… all i knew was HTML. I basically learned everything about php/mysql on the job. 😉 And look at you… you learned it in your spare time! You know I’m proud of the work you’ve done so far. 😉 Good luck at the interview!
As for the cover letter…. it’s basically states why they should choose you for the job. You can also expand and talk about your past experiences on similar projects. Even if you don’t have any experience that they seek yet, show them that you’re a fast learner.
And for your resume… keywords are php, mysql, C/C++, Java…. anything that has to do with programming. 😉
I hope that help!!! Good luck sis!
That job sounds great- I would definately go for it as I know you’ll probbaly get it.
Cover letter: exactly what Daynah said. It’s just an introduction to why you want the job, what you have to offer etc etc.
Best of luck with it!
(ooh, I want your blinkie…*muahaha*jk)
I agree with Daynah, you can learn on the job, so it’s all good. Take it!
people, it’s not like i’m getting it already 😛
