yes i’m working on daily grind. my stupid camera (Fuji finepix 4700z) has been acting up. it keeps giving me reading errors when i try to view the pictures with the camera and forcing me to delete the pictures i’ve taken u_u so i contacted fujifilm this morning and they returned me a worthless email. i guess i just have to pray for my camera to behave itself 😦

To Fujifilm
hi, i bought a FinePix 4700 Zoom digital camera about two years ago. since the beginning of this year, it starts to have reading error when i try to view my pictures. i usually take my pictures in automatic mode. at first i thought it’s the smart media card that has problem. i bought a new one and replaced my old one. but the problem did NOT get resolved. the reading error occurs more frequently recently. a lot of times one reading error picture will wipe out many other good pictures prior to it. losing pictures you’ve taken is very frustrating. is there anything i can do to fix it? thanks

Dear Ying,

Thank you for contacting Fujifilm USA. We appreciate the opportunity to be of assistance.

We were very disappointed to learn of the difficulties you had encountered with your Fine Pix 4700 digital camera. Please be advised that a “read error” may indicate that an attempt was made to playback a frame that was not recorded by the camera.

Please try reformatting the card and recording again. If the problem persists, you may want to try another card.

We sincerely hope that this information has been beneficial to you. If you should have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us back. We have several Technicians and it would be their pleasure to assist you.

Thank you for your interest in Fujifilm Digital Imaging products and services.

WHATEVER i reformat my card very often but it doesn’t improve the camera performance. i do think it’s the camera’s problem not the card. WOAH… i’m gonna lose my camera soon. soo annoying!!

  1. Maybe write back to them and let them know that you’ve done the reformatting, and if you’ve tried another card, let them know as well? Sometimes ppl have problems but don’t bother letting the technicians know coz it’s too much hassle, so the problem stays out there and gives the company a bad name. 😦 Hope it’s still under warranty.

  2. Sis, I had that problem before… it’s probably the Smartmedia card… it’s getting old or something. What would fix it is if I reformat the card, then start taking pictures. Try that and see if it works?

  3. OOps!! I didn’t see the “read more” link. I don’t know what to do then… do you still have the warranty for the cam? If not.. try complaining again.. =

  4. i don’t know where the warranty is 😦 remember andy moved.. we are terrible at keeping those things 😦 yeah, i will probably write back and see.

  5. Maybe it’s time to get a new camera *grins* (p.s. I also hate it when my electronic gadgets break down after the warranties end).
