$2 per envelope addressed?
April 10th, 2003
does this look real or fraud? if it’s real, i’d like to give it a try. i think i might write a letter to their address with a check instead paying with a credit card. i realize the pay form on their site is not really SSL secured. hmm
visting high school and more
April 2nd, 2003
visiting your high school and seeing teachers you once liked is a fun experience. i visited west high to pick up some books from my ESL teacher – Mrs. T. Mrs. T has been helping the ESL msgboard for a while and had shown tremendous interest and care for it. she had some books for my friend who maintains the msgboard so i went today to pick them up. it was fun finding teachers i liked. i wished i could talk to them all but most of them were busy teaching a class. i would like to see my German teacher and my biology teacher, but neither of them were there. i know that my biology moved elsewhere right after I graduated. i really loved him.
fortunately i found my computer science teacher Mr. Rolenc
he’s really cool. he started the computer science class in west high. i was his first year student there and that time it was only a early bird class since there wasn’t enough computer labs in west. he obviously convinced the school to build a whole new computer lab. and now he’s teaching 5 computer science classes including 2 advanced courses. i feel so happy for those who have chances to have cs courses in high school. i hope they don’t take them for granted.

spring break is coming!
March 10th, 2003
ok i finally had to remove those “black dots“, it kills me to look at them constantly.
i finished a machine problem for my advance system software class. it was awful. we had to read more than 1000 lines of code to figure out what to do!! i left the unix lab yesterday afternoon after finished printing out all the codes. (it was like a booklet.) there were many people in my class who were still stuck there. the teacher extended the due day to Wednesday but i finished it anyway. i only wish it gives me extra credits. arg.. probably not.
i also finished my biology lab report yesterday. i’ve been a busy little bee.
after i’ve done all the required work, i finally got to relax and think about my upcoming trip to california. OMG!! it will be here so soon. i want to jump up and down. i took all the summer clothes out from the closet yesterday to decide which ones i want to take to CA. gosh i haven’t worn them for so long. i WANT TO WEAR THEM so bad. i love my summer clothes. now i get to wear them. *goes to scream in joy* hahahahha…
people, start the count down now! 4 more days til CA.. meanwhile, don’t forget to vote for me at the bottom of that page, #11
XOXO,
DODO!
this web master job
January 20th, 2003
man, i was about jumping into the ceiling when i found out about this web master job. it sounds so perfect for me. gosh.. i sent an email immediately but i don’t know how lucky i will be. they did say they perferred grad students. but hey i will be here for another two years. they can’t leave me out because of that. i’m waiting so anxiously now for a reply. *prays prays*
on the other hand, i’m still planning to return to the computer lab for the semester. i went to their meeting today. arg.. it sounds they’ve been changing a lot of things around over the break. and lots of them DO NOT WORK.. like even if a user deletes their print jobs, they would still be charged for the printing. smells LOTS OF COMPLAINTS when school starts. annoying.. and we the monitors are always the first victims. sniff sniff. man, would it be nice to find another job and run away from it. sigh…

January 3rd, 2003

FINALS ARE OVER!!
December 20th, 2002
no more finals for me! i finished my last one last nite. i’m SOOOOOOO HAPPY… end of the semester. i’m so excited that i woke up at 9pm. i finished my second playing FFIX last nite. WOO it was fun
i WILL send out the xmas cards today. i’ve been procrastinating. eek.. so far, i have daynah’s, ecila’s, athena’s, grace’s, felisha’s, vera’s, leah’s, donaville’s done. i never got a reply from stacey?? maybe she’s away. anyway, xmas cards day today. and shopping too!
i totalled 59 hours for the social work page. and the site is not done yet. they still have two sections to add for December. i’m getting paid now because i wasn’t allowed to work more than 20 hours per week for the school year. so they have to cram all the hours in and to pay me over the winter break. even after the site’s done, they will still need me to do something maintenance. that’s cool
andy and i have both finished the survey, take a look if you are interested.
final week
December 4th, 2002
final week is getting closer. i won’t have much room to breathe.. so expect not to find me online. take care everyone!
job application
November 26th, 2002
my friend paul told me about this job opportunity. it looks very attractive!! Of course I’m applying! I wrote my cover letter yesterday. I asked andy to read it so he could correct my grammar mistakes. He was laughing so loud afterwards I thought I made some silly mistake again. But he said the letter had absolutely no grammar error and it sounded like an example of a cover letter in a college text book. he kept laughing.. i was thoroughly perplexed at what was so funny about THAT?!
i need to polish up my resume! i think i will use echirps and the social work site as my two work samples.

abuse of women
November 19th, 2002
after two and half hours of reading the international relations textbook, i’ve faced many negative facts about the world. among all, the most disturbing story was still Fauziya Kassindja’s. perhaps because i’m also a woman, knowing that such abuse still exists in the world truly frightens me. i could feel my body trembling and my feet turning cold while i was reading. abuse of women is actively exercised in many other parts of the world. another vivid image i encountered was a picture of two Pakistani women. under the picture, it stated: This shocking photograph shows two victims of domestic abuse, Husrat Parveen and Tasneen Bibi in a Pakistani hospital. Parveen had her nose cut off by her husband, and Bibi had acid thrown in her face by her in-laws. Parveen’s hushand, enraged when she complained about his bad temper, tied her to her bed, cut off her hair to humiliate her, then sliced off her nose. When she was able to escape, she went to the police, but they refused to press charges after Parveen’s husband denounced her as an evil woman. Bibi’s in-laws offered no explanation other than that she had displeased her husband. The burns were so serious that one operation had to be done to separate her cheek from her shoulder after the acid had fused her skin. Like Parveen’s husband, Bibi’s in-laws were not prosecuted.
